In Good Company
for Beyond Walls in Lynn, MA
Ernesto had the opportunity to paint for Beyond Walls for their Lynn Mural Tour in 2023.
The piece plays on the idea of being in “good company.” It features different fauna outside of their natural habitat living together. There's a black rhino along with an American purple gallinule bird at its feet, and a bear cub in the forest on the rhino's back. You wouldn't find these animals together in the wild, but in this painted landscape, they live among each other.
In Good Company also reflects on his time in Lynn. Ernesto got to meet amazing people from the community, other artists, and people involved with Beyond Walls. The title also shines a light on being among all the beautiful art in Lynn and directly adjacent to the masterfully painted Smug One piece.
Ernesto also had the pleasure of creating murals for the interior of the building. Animals were painted in their “homes” and habitats on each floor: bears in the forest, foxes in their den, an elephant in the grasslands, a koala in the trees, a wolf in the forest, a tiger bathing, and at the very top, a pair of birds in their nest.
