Ferdinand

in Odessa, TX

Ernesto traveled to west Texas to paint the the beautiful new Odessa Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

The mural, commissioned by the City of Odessa and Odessa Arts, features a Texas longhorn, lovingly named Ferdinand. It also includes two bird species native to Texas: a golden cheeked warbler and a barn swallow.

The mural makes use of the building’s structure by incorporating an anamorphic design that wraps the bull around the corners of the garage. The mural also stretches through the building’s horizontal levels.

Ferdinand was named the Gold winner of the National Mural Award for Region 4 (AR, LA, OK, TX, NM, AZ) in 2023.
