in Miami, FL

Patch of Heaven Sanctuary is a 20-acre nature preserve that is home to endangered tropical hardwood hammocks, historic structures, lush gardens, and native wildlife. Ernesto had the pleasure to paint a mural for their new visitor center to help welcome guests.

The mural features local wildlife that can be found throughout Patch of Heaven’s endless trails. A pair of painted buntings perched on a branch and rock are a focal point. Monarch, zebra longwing, and julia butterflies are painted along with a monarch caterpillar and a chrysalis. There’s also a honeybee, a lorikeet, and lots of plant life, like tickseeds, orchids and angel trumpets.

Patch of Heaven Sanctuary is home to so many unique and beautiful treasures. Get lost in winding paths that lead to breathtaking nature, historic buildings, beautiful statues, a koi pond, a tea house, a stable with horses, butterfly gardens, nurseries, and fruit trees.
